Technology has improved vastly over the past decades, such that it is now possible to record shows like Chicago on SCV, possible to perm your hair digitally (with electricity) etc. Though the disadvantage of technology perming is the awful chemical stench taht poisons the air and irritates the smelling abilities of a person. But at the same time, without technology, Laura and I wouldn't be gawking at ultra flexible girls dancing fieryly, and tap dancers tapping furiously away in Chicago the musical.

Anyway, today was a travelling day.

Rehearsal today was all right I guess..only remind me to get rosin on sunday for the performance so that I dont slip on the slippery stage.Full dress today, and Ms Ho wasnt there. Joyce was the da lao ban for today.
Wah lao she's one heck of a boss man. goodness.

The car broke down today. oh man. too much driving I think.

I've been desperately trying to learn how to do the "Puss In Boots & the White Cat" dance from Sleeping Beauty's Act 3. I just realised it's so much harder to learn it off youtube or a dvd, than learning it straight from someone else.. oh gosh so silly..

I have no idea why, but recently I've been starting to love listening to Disney princess-ey songs.. hahaha...lol.
I just find them so...hmm... fantasy-like? I don't know man.. But hey, they're really nice to listen too!

Yesterday was a rather hectic day..
Followed mummy to Shepard's Assembly(Ps Clara's church) at Yishun because she was preaching there, then had lunch with the ppl there.
Drove over to Aunty Joyce's mum's funeral to visit them, then back to seletar to change, drove across singapore to tampines to pick laura, then to church for rehearsal. GOODNESS.
Nothing much to say about rehearsal yesterday la..it was the normal run-through, cleaning up etc. SSCC open house rehearsal was in the middle of the church rehearsal, so I skipped dinner to fit the rehearsal in. HEHE. didn't feel hungry anyway.
The stage at siglap is SO WEIRD. The wings are to steep, and are arranged in the odd-est manner you could ever think of. one ultra short so it's un-usable, one goes straight, 2 slant steeply. wth. SOOOO WEIRD..............
Ah anyway, part of our job is to adapt to any kind of stage we dance on..that's the professionalism of dancers, even when the stage layout totally sucks.

Actually come to think of it, Open House is this sunday! haha..

Went to watch Enchanted on Friday night / Saturday morning, with Mummy, Gab, Laura, Siva, Charlene, Ps Daph, Dwayne, Bao.

It's a somewhat amusing show la.
This girl Giselle makes clothes out of curtains! I'll make her my tailor for my prom gown next time...just give her curtains. But I really loved the part where they sang "That's How You Know", and they were dancing on the street, it was really amazing! haha! ooh I love the dancing!
OH I totally hated the part where cockroaches started crawling out of the bathtub EWW. GROSS!
But all in all, the show's rather enjoyable to watch if you're the type who loves musicals and watching handsome guys act! hehe... But honestly, they are quite dashing. HAHA.

Today mummy and I went over to watch the street soccer tournament for awhile a.k.a waiting for Gabriel to finish.. lol
Had bs with charlene (HAPPY BIRTHDAY! YOU'RE 30 YEARS OLD! You look really really young for your age..haha)
Got ready for ballet, and aunty ivy helped me stitch up a hole in my stockings hahah!
As for ballet, I've got nothing much to say...everything was the same - same people who still can't remember the steps. Though today we had a much smaller area to dance in. The actual stage area is so darn small la. For my solo, I managed to leap from one end of the stage, into the wings, on the other side. LOL. That's how small it is.
But rehearsals will never feel the same...for certain reasons that cannot be revealed, though they're slowing finding their way into conversations when we're sitting down and resting after 1 run-through.
ANYWAY, I've got to go sleep...tomorrow I'm following mummy to a church in Yishun...

Ok before I start describing my exciting adventure, I shall I tell you what happened today:

WELL DONE UNCLE DWAYNE a.k.a. Punch-a-nello Peacemaker!!!!!
You sang SOOOO well! OMG. damn good man... You sounded like a pro! haha maybe because you ARE a pro hahah!
But seriously, I love your voice! Oh your acting is really excellent too!
I loved the whole show la...haha! REALLY AMAZING.
OH YES. The set's really nice! Costumes too - so colourful!
OH dwayne, great job with the dancing! Nice improv man hahah! Your pirouette's not bad...haha.
After the show, Pastor was so funny la! He bought a poster, and asked Dwayne to autograph it to "Lau". HAHAHA.
OH YES. While taking a HUGE group photo with dwayne, suddenly I heard:" Jie Jie Hannah!". Saw this tiny girl standing there smiling at me, but I didn't recognise her LOL! Then her sister walked over (forgot her name! grade 1/2...very smart girl).. HAHA.

All in all, I really enjoyed the entire show man...the boxes, the melons etc. HAHAHAH! okok enough.
Once again, 2 thumbs up to Uncle Dwayne a.k.a. Punch!


Ok i've got a complain...
I have a feeling that guys are couch potatoes..
Can't even clean up by themselves - either too darn lazy to move, or just plain stubborn.
I mean, come on. It's not the girl's job to clean up, wash up etc. you know...hello, stop living in the past of female discrimination... Now, there's equality. Meaning, EVERYONE cleans up. As long as you're a resident of the house, you clean. Any questions?
Seriously... you just sit there, eat, watch soccer, don't help to wash, or do laundry, or do anything for that matter.

Today, or rather yesterday, since it's already past midnight, I discovered to nightmare of travelling from Seletar to civilisation.
I took 1 and a half hours by bus to reach church. How horribly horrid.
I felt so sick by the time I got off...
THANK GOD for pastor who could send me...
hahaha.
Well I had rehearsal at IMM (Jurong East) for the big show tomorrow (later)!
Rehearsal was all right. I hate the flooring man. Totally BAD for the shoe. The carpeted stage and pebbled floor managed to tear my toe pads off the satin, and tore the satin of Germaine's shoe! horrible. tsk. so..unconducive for dancing.

So, I'm packing now...
- tutu
- make up
- leukoplast, scissors
- both pointe shoes, tights
- comb, hair net, rubberband, pins

that's it I think...

Pastor rushed me down via PIE to siglap for ballet rehearsal..by the time I arrived, it was 10 mins to end of class. haiz. but anyway, I sprinted from the car to the studio, tied my pointe shoe ribbons at lightning speed, but the pace of rehearsal was contrasting to the speed at which I entered the studio... I barely danced! haiz what a letdown. Maybe that's why I'm so grumpy.
Because i barely accomplised anything there. Some people just took SO DARN LONG to learn simple steps, or just to remember when to enter, omg I felt like slapping them. WHERE'S YOUR BRAIN. argh. Pls la ballet doesn't mean you switch off your brain..if you actually had one. Ballet involves alot of thinking if you didn't realise.

ARGH.
Anyway, i gotta continue packing... Don't want to forget anything.. Oh shucks. there's dance tml.

I've missed 3 ballet rehearsals so far, because of rehearsal with Miss Wee for IMM light up and because of the Chiang Mai trip.

IMM rehearsal was all right...I didn't have to kill myself just by being so ultra scared of Germaine. We both have our own strengths so I guess we're kinda on par... but I love her arabesques and penche... oh yes did I mention we have to do a penche? she's doing left (her better side), and I'm doing right (my worst side)! oh boy... I keep toppling over partly due to the uneven bottom of the pointe shoe, AND, partly because my right penche just sucks. haiz. But nevertheless, it's a really fun dance to do. OH YES ballet peeps, I'm wearing a white tutu! LOL.

I shan't talk about Chiang Mai because there are simply too many things to talk about...I'm too lazy and I don't have the patience to write document everything.

OH I'M SO GLAD I'VE FINISHED CHOREOGRAPHY FOR ANGELS.

what's next? oh yes...Open house rehearsal.
I miss 3 rehearsals, and steps have changed, blockings have changed.. argh.
ah nevermind...it's ok.

I feel so excited about dancing again, about putting on those pointe shoes, feeling my ankle work hard as I balance myself on that mere tip of the shoe. It's a really good feeling to feel your muscles working hard to hold an arabesque, so pirouette en pointe. Most of all, I love sweating. Sounds gross i know, but it means that you've worked hard, that you have made that 1 and a half hours of dancing worthwhile.

I'm so excited to dance on pointe again.

Today is officially my last day of school WOOTS!
freedom is mine!
hah ok not exactly because I've still got to study for R papers, choreo sdd, angel, rehearsals for a million and one things... i might be even busier. BUT anyway THANK GOD it comprises of mostly dancing... makes it a whole lot more enjoyable..

Handed in I&R today, and I had to write the page numbers for the GPP! 140 pages! You know one thing, I'm glad that our PW group can joke around and have fun now... somehow it feels good...

ok going back to recording the history of today, I went rollerblading at ECP with my colour gang + Simin. 2 hours of rollerblading was enough to kill our legs man...tsk so unfit...like old ppl.. no stamina HAHA.

Went to parkway for lunch, walked around, and I nearly fell asleep on the bench while waiting for mummy to fetch me from PP (THANK GOD for cars!)

Ballet today was quite good...did 1 hours 15 mins of pointe. Concert piece all the way through.
