My computer is seriously irritating the life outta me.
First it can't open internet explorer. So when I change accounts, it finally opens. GOOD.
Then, i can't upload pictures on facebook! AAAAAAAH.........
Anyway, technology aside, it's exactly a week more till I fly off.. It's weird though - how I don't feel anything. I'm not even excited.
Anyway, watched Cinderella last friday@ Esplanade. Am not going to comment on Lea salonga's singing, because if it weren't perfect, she wouldn't be lea salonga. haha.
But it started me thinking:
Why do people dream? What's the use of dreaming?
The Cinderella storyline emphasised that "anything is possible", and that your "dreams do come true". But think about it - Cinderella's dream only came true because her fairy godmother intervened. If left by herself, she'd still be a pathetic maid at home, always dreaming of meeting the prince, but never ever being able to. So, what good does dreaming do, if it only makes you more unsatisfied with your current situation? And what's the benefit of dreaming of "Prince Charming" or "Mr. Perfect" to waltz on by, if everyone knows that nobody is perfect? Girls would then be complaining that "oh he's so great BUT....." or "I wish he were ___ instead".
Fairy tales do no good at all. And besides, even if someone were near perfect (which would mean that there would be more than one person feeling attracted to this mr/miss awesome, what are the odds that each girl will have their "happily ever after" with him/her?
Fairy tales just make people feel like their life isn't good enough. Well, that's my opinion on such useless stories anyway.
dance those blues away...
