I know.. it's been SUCH a long time since I last blogged.
I've had such an awesome time these past 3 weeks. Not having to worry about waking up on time for rehearsals, or dragging myself out of bed, and then plonking back into bed after an exhausting day's worth of rehearsals. Plus, it feels good to have people pampering you day in, day out. Mama cooked oxtail stew for me during my performance season, and I brought some for Louis.. he enjoyed it SO MUCH. Since we're on the topic of food, the meals I've had have been sooo delicious:) Fried rice, eggplant tempura, french toast, american breakfast, pesto bread, and many more.. I'm not surprised if I've actually grown fatter. hahah. time to hit the gym.. (who am I kidding.. no I better do it now. Joel, I HAVE to go over to use the gym. HAVE TO. If not, you'll have a fat girlfriend. don't want that, right? HHAHA!)
Actually met alot of people here during the 3 weeks - mama, mummy, aunty jenny, uncle henry, aunty linda (Joel's aunty), aunty linda (my aunty), aunty wendy, and aunty yvonne who I've met before. So many people in melbourne. hahah..
Uncle Henry is SUCH a funny guy(now it's evident where Joel got his lameness from)
Aunty Yvonne: ....yea we laughed together, cried together, we were such good friends...
Aunty Jenny: what did you all cry about?
Uncle Henry: spilt milk*EVERYONE bursts out laughing.. and I'm thinking: "OH MY SKY..HAHAHA"..and he and aunty jenny look so cute together:) really glad that they're so loving even at their age... It's hard to find couples who still show their affection for each other after so many years of marriage, and it does warm the heart when I see such people.
Anyway, aunty jenny, aunty linda and aunty wendy cook really well:) We had a meal at their rented apartment one of the days, and oh my sky.. SO many dishes. hahahha. and they were all SO yummy:) I SO hope that I'll be able to cook like them next time man...
Ok now about my mummy and mama... I miss them SO MUCH. Really glad that they could come over to watch me perform my very first contemp performance:) It was a really interesting experience because it was so different from my concerts with SSCC. You know how in Singapore everyone tells you "You were the best one on stage" or "You looked so much stronger than the others" etc etc (and I think people only say that because they're your friends or family, and not because you REALLY are better than everyone else. They're obliged to say it..[an arrow at someone who actually thought she was the best on stage, well but she got shot down by Taylor and I. so oh well..]) Yea anyway, the first comments I heard from mummy and mama were.."well done!" and then mummy gave me corrections that I could make for my subsequent performances, and they told me who i could watch and who I could look more like. I think such constructive criticisms are SO much better and useful than statements like "you were the best!" because it lets me work on something, and become EVEN better, as opposed to letting my head grow bigger with something that I know isn't true.
Well apart from the performance, we spent heaps of time exploring Melbourne. Shopping didn't start till mama left though.. hahahha:P I actually spent more time exploring with mummy, because mama afew days after I ended my season. But, I still managed to spend precious time with her:) Mummy, on the other hand, has spent so much time here that I think she could pass of as Aussie (hahah kidding.. she still doesn't go "beda" instead of better, or "eight THirty" HAHA). BUT, I'm glad that she feels comfortable with everyone here.. As Joel would say, aunty jenny and mummy are BFFs. hahah! and I can tell that Davin and Joel feel very comfortable with her too.. AWESOME:) I've got a totally cool mum!
I'm just watching her sleep now, and am wondering if I'm going to miss her when she flies off tomorrow...
dance those blues away...
